It went by so fast it’s hard to remember!
We’ve reached the halfway point in yearbook. Although…neither the year nor the book are halfway finished. EEP. That means workovers (long work nights) have begun and will get more and more frequent next semester.
So I’ve made the room more festive:
because let’s be honest, I’ll probably never take them down. Also, I loathe flourescent light and working by warm light is much more relaxing. #alwayscrysmissneverwinter
Photo 1 is wrapping up. It’s been a lovely semester with a great group of students. We’ve got 1.5 weeks left and then it’s exam week, time flies! We learned a lot together. We’ve just wrapped up our unit about photographer’s rights and ethics in photography through trying our hand at debates about copyright and the legalities of consent of the subject in a photo. We had great discussions about whether something being legal makes it ethical/right. More than once a student has said “AHH, I’m never going to look at photos the same way again!” Besides making great images, I think that’s the point. Thinking about what they post, why, and where, what they share and whether it’s theirs to share, or if it’s a reliable message they want to be responsible for spreading is more valuable than being able to work a camera well. Hopefully the students have enjoyed the experience as much as I have had in having them.
Another month, another production! I’ve continued my learning to run a soundboard. It makes me crazy! But we are starting to fight less. We had 14 wireless mics to run for our production of Twelfth Night and this last weekend we ran a huge anniversary service in our theater. We had a full band–3 accoustic, 1 electric, bass, kick, 7 mics and 3 choir mics. I really enjoyed running the service and I’ve decided I like it loud when I’m in control. XD This church always does a great job with their music. I kind of wish they always met at Faith!
I’m sure my favorite was Christmas in November! Thankful for my mommy who sent me a #balikbayan (means return home in Tagalog) box of goodies and t-shirts from my past life (that want to become a quilt). I’m going to have a sugar coma!
